Kathy's March Tips
Today started with this email. "Hi Kathy. Since I took your class on the quilting cruise in November, l am hooked on landscapes!! I look at the world in a totally different way. Every view is an inspiration! Thank you so much!!! Carol Beliveau
Nothing fills my heart more than notes from students/new friends who have found confidence and conviction to lead an artistic/creative life. I love Carol's bold use of color and movement. Each artist develops signature shapes and their own language of color. I can't wait to see where she takes this. The next cruise is to the Fjords of Norway, June 2017. We will be sailing with Sue Nickels and Paula Nadelstern to one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Wouldn't it be great if you could come? http://www.quiltcruises.com/cruises/Norway-2017/
March Madness is here. Let the sales begin.

Language of Flowers already an award winner! Flowers provide a means of unspoken communication, a language evident from the writings of Jane Austen and William Shakespeare to Princess Kate’s bridal bouquet. The blocks in Kathy McNeil’s Language of Flowers quilt convey heartfelt messages through lovely appliqué tussie mussies. Each of the nine blocks include three floral symbols in a graceful arrangement, bordered with an oval frame and appliqué lace work. When combined, the quilt measures 48½" x 52" before adding the scalloped 3" outer border. The set includes fabric requirements, nine block patterns with general as well as detailed individual block instructions, diagrams for embroidery accents, and border and finishing instructions. This set has tons of detail photo's also.
The patterns are finally here and in my web store just in time to begin a spring floral project.
All 9 blocks can be purchased as singles for special wall hangings or the complete set is currently on sale. We will compile orders and ship on Thursday the 10th.

Tricks and Tips- Smarty of the month Linda Beachy-Hughes wound rubber bands around her Apliquick rods to help her arthritic fingers grasp the rods. Quilters are the most creative people on earth. Thank you for sharing this great tip.
New Product on the market. Blue Line Eraser.
Beware! Marketed as a liquid which can be sprayed on or used in a refillable pen to erase blue line markers on quilt tops. This product worked as described for me when I used this company's blue marking pen. It did not work on a similar marking pen made by Clover. The Clover line seemed to disappear but when I ironed the fabric - it came back! This is still a good product. Just be sure to use it with their marking pens! Thank you to David Ann in my Kathy Dunnigan's Appliqué Academy class for bringing this product to my attention. www.BlueLineEraser.com
Companies often donate their products to me when asked. That way we don't all have to buy them and I can try them out for all of us. If you have products you would like me to try -e mail me. Kathymcneilartquilts@gmail.com
