Kathy's tips/ Cyber Sale!
"Pied Piper Christmas" has been hung with all of the Christmas stockings. It's so much fun to bring these seasonal quilts out to decorate. It is one of the few quilts that I have done a lot of Broderie Perse type applique. All of the holly leaves were fussy cut and then needle turned against Santa's arm. Santa was still made as a unit and then appliquéd to the background snowy gray fabric. The corners are filled with Scottish Roses.
Tip - Be sure to check the heat tolerance of any commercial trims that you want to embellish your quilts with. Always test a sample first! Use a couching stitch and foot with invisible thread to attach. See cording along side of the prairie points on the coat.
I'm glad there is so much color inside because it is all gray outside. The reindeer will need to sport red, white, and green umbrellas to make it to my house this year. The rain has been relentless, but we escaped to sunny Punta Gorda, Florida, for three days of wonderful workshops. There will be a flight of Heron quilts lifting off soon. The gals were lots of fun, many of them snow birds from Canada. Then we left on a mission to Sanibel island looking for my new favorite bird, the Roseate Spoonbills. We found them at the Ding Darling Nature preserve!
It won't be hard to guess the subject of my new quilt!
