Kathy's tips/ March
Yes, I am holding up that big palm hat all by myself. We have just returned from a dream family vacation with my two daughters and families.
There were smiles enough to warm my memories thru many rocking chair years ahead. Our rental car turned out to be a convertible mustang. Bruce just beamed. He was finally the super cool guy with the hot car. Too bad he had an old lady sitting next to him, but hey!
Teaching travels - Appliqué Academy in TX. Kathy Duningan's academy has all the lovely personal touches that made Elly's academy so special. Stitchin all day and into the night, this is the best retreat ever. My special gals got a lot done, and learned some great new tips. If you love appliqué or have always wanted to learn, this is the place to come.
I am off to Colorado this month and next. First Steamboat Springs and then Durango. What a crazy, happy life I have.
Teachers pick up tips too!
One of my students introduced us to the glue pen caddy. Use a small jar. Put a damp make up pad or paper towel in the bottom. When you are gluing up lots of little pieces, just rest your open pen in the jar. That way you won't have to keep capping and un-capping the pen to prevent it from drying out. That little bit of moisture helps the glue glide on too!
On the home front there is a new regional show in Everett with judged and non-judged categories, workshops and free demo's.

Ribbons and Things -Remember my Horrible, Bad, Terrible, Disaster with the marking pen last month? You will never believe it - "Enso" won Best Wall quilt at the Mid Atlantic Show. Thank heavens for perseverance! After 5 different fix it attempts, the lines finally were gone. Never again! I will not use those disappearing pens on a white quilt.

They are laser pre-cuts. I made about 30 of them in an hour. This is so quick and easy. The perfect on the go project for the beach or spring trips away. Turn them under and then use invisible thread to machine appliqué together.
Use a narrow blanket or zigzag stitch. 1.5 in width and 0.3 in length. We have the thread too!

I am wishing you all Daffodils in your garden soon.
