Spring

Hello everyone.

My daughter took all of your spring orders to the post yesterday. When she returned, she told me the post office lady made her cry.  "Oh, no. Why I asked?  Because, they just loved Dad and his cheerful, infectious visits everyday."

That was my guy.  He treated everyone with kindness and appreciation.  Slowly my days are filled with more gratitude than sobbing. A 55 year long love story that I am so grateful for. Thank you to so many of you that sent cards or added me to your prayer lists. Step by step I will try to keep moving forward.

"Pass it On". an oldie but goodie.

I made this quilt before I even knew I would have a red haired grand daughter. All of our quilts are stitched with stories and memories. This quilt was a tribute to every fiber art I could think of. How many can you find?   So much of our quilting tradition is sharing our projects, fabrics, tecniques and tools. It's fun to look back and remember the stories around each.

2025 Apliquick Pricing.

Two days ago I got a letter from our Apliquick freinds in Spain listing my new pricing. They  also set a minimum retail price for each item that everyone has to abide by. I expected that this increase was coming. The letter said it was effective April 1st, so I was not able to place a large order before the pricing went into effect.  We have always sold Bohim glue. It is my favorite and the least expensive for refiils. Unfortunately Bohim has decided not to sell to small clients in the US.  I will be searching for and trialing other glue sources.

The applique society has a wonderful new spring project to unite all of us passionate appliquers across the county. Members of The Appliqué Society have joined their talents to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America - 1776 --2026, Semiquincentennial or "Semiquin" for short. In celebrating this anniversary of our country, some of the members created 70 one-of-a-kind appliqué pattern designs and 4 unique borders that celebrate every state in our great country. Just as the original colonies came together to create something that was bigger than the sum of its parts, we have pooled our efforts to create a project that is bigger than any one of us individually. Our quilt will be 85"x 85". This unique quilt will tour quilt shows in 2026 also celebrating the Semiquincentennial  of America.

I designed the border for the western states and am really excited to see it come alive.  If you need a fulfilling spring/summer project - consider stitching with us. The Applique Society has wonderful teachers from all over the world, and lots of free resources for members. https://www.theappliquesociety.org

Hold your loved ones tight.
