Rainbow Falls

Reminiscent of your favorite water falls, this landscape scene will be a wonderful addition to any room. Use the color of fabrics that will remind you of your own favorite cliffs and special falls. Find water fabric and turn it, to run vertically or fussy cut the falls from pre printed landscape fabrics. Fussy cut your favorite small scale foliage and floral fabrics for the fore ground. Easy to follow instructions included. For those who love to FUSE! Sew a piece of sky fabric 19 inches wide by 9 inches tall to 19 inch wide by 16 inch tall light weight interfacing. FUSE the waterfalls, cliffs and foliage fabrics to the interfacing. It will be less thick than using a muslin backing. It also has less of a tendency for all the layers to cause rippling at the time of quilting. 18 x 22 inches with out the borders.

If you need help with applique techniques consider adding my 1 hr and 45 minute DVD on "Multiple ways to Applique." It demonstrates 5 different methods of applique. Sizing and Starch is my go to method for simple shapes like leaves, that do not need to be precise.  Freezer Paper allows you to make sure that you get a cliff to look like the pattern.  Needle Turn is the only way to deal with tiny complex edges. Fused saves time and may be the only reasonable way to make a tiny eye or little branch that is too small to turn under your edges. Machine Applique gives added definition and can be used for turned under edges or raw edges.
